Please ask an experienced researcher, or experienced department staff member for help the first 3 times taking waste to the department of chemistry waste vault.

Reuse only empty commercial chemical containers, or buy new containers that have lids that screw closed and/or seal.

Please remember that all chemical tracking barcodes need to be removed from waste containers and 20 L cans and then placed on barcode disposal sheets, the sheets are available from the DSS Stockroom–326 Chevron.

Please remember to transport chemicals on the freight elevator. Take properly labeled chemicals to 255 Chevron department of chemistry’s waste vault.

 

Chemical Waste room

Accessing the Chemical waste room 255 Chevron.

Please take your cellular phone to room 326 Chevron (to the left out of the freight elevator) to sign out the waste room key, 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Monday through Friday. You will use your cell phone to access an online form with a Quick Response code (a two-dimensional matrix barcode also known as a QR code).
