Directions to the Arts& Sciences Machine Shop
The NPL Shop can best be reached by walking up OHara St to the front entrance Allen Hall. Once you enter into Allen Hall, walk straight up the stairs in front of you and then straight down the stairs at the top of the first landing. Once you are down the stairs, exit outside and turn right. You should see a door with a sign that says ‘Physics Machine Shop”. Simply follow the signs to the Shop. Working with Hydrofluoric acid
If you work with Hydrofluoric acid (HF) you should know the first aid steps if you are exposed, use Calcium gluconate gel. Your lab should also have access to Calcium gluconate 2.5% gel. Researchers can also order a Calcium gluconate wash fluid from the manufacturer Calgonate or a distributor. Please contact the Department of Chemistry and/or EH&S if you have further questions.

Testing Chemicals for Hazardous Peroxides
Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) recommends that all peroxide-forming chemicals should be tested every six months for peroxide content or discarded and replaced.
